Come join us for an unforgettable winter ride through the scenic Vermont countryside. Snuggle up under warm blankets and glide through new-fallen snow. Our massive draft horses Belgian Dan and Percheron Bob , will jingle their bells all the way to a cozy campfire surrounded by mountain views. Once you’re there, we will treat you to steaming hot chocolate and all the fixin’s for marshmallow s’mores. (Feel free to bring your own snack or a bottle of wine as well.) After visiting and warming up awhile, you’ll return to the Ranch as darkness descends on the majestic landscape.
Please note that the majority of the time we use a wagon that is fabricated to look like a sleigh, but actually has wheels instead of runners that are virtually invisible. There is several reasons for this: first it is much easier on the horses to pull something that rolls instead of drags, this rolling motion is also much smoother and more comfortable for our guests, runners also require a good amount of snow where the wheels are happy in any terrain, and lastly our ride travels a bit down our country lane (Easy St. – if you can believe it!) and 99% of the time there is not enough snow. However, the only difference in the ride is that we’re smoothly rolling instead of jerkily dragging – making your experience all that more enjoyable
This wonderful trip into yesteryear will provide incredible memories for you and your friends or loved ones. To make sure that they’re all happy memories, please dress for the Vermont weather. Warm, dry coats, hats, mittens, and especially boots are essential to comfort.
The sleigh ride lasts about an hour—a 15-minute ride to the campfire, a 30-minute break for complimentary hot chocolate and s’mores, and another 15-minute ride back to the ranch.
